Elly Griffiths is the author of the Dr Ruth Galloway mysteries and the Stephens and Mephisto books. Her first crime novel The Crossing Places won the Mary Higgins Clark award and her books have also been shortlisted for the Theakston’s Crime Novel of the Year three times. In 2016 Elly won the Crime Writers’ Association Dagger in the Library, awarded for a body of work.

Before turning to crime, Elly worked in publishing for many years (under her real name, Domenica de Rosa) and was Editorial Director for Children’s Fiction at HarperCollins publishers. She has published four non-crime books under her real name and is an Associate Lecturer on the Creative Writing MA at West Dean College, where she also teaches short courses with Lesley Thomson.
